Coffee Buzz With Terri – Thanks a Latte

coffeebuzzwithterri-1

Hello my coffee loving, crafty friends!  I’m so happy to join this super fabulous design team.  In fact, my arm is black and blue from pinching myself.  I’ve been along for the ride since it’s inception, four years now, I do believe.  I’m not even sure how I stumbled onto the Coffee Loving Cardmaker’s site.  Oh, yes, I do…. it was the coffee!  Needless to say, I’ve enjoyed every minute of blog hopping, late night crafting, and oohing and aahing over the delicious creations by this amazing community.  Although I’m mad for coffee, I love a good cup of cocoa and tea as well.  Let’s get on with it, shall we?

I purchased this set from Verve during the recent Winter blog hop.  It was an older set, but one that I’d somehow missed.  The price was right so into the shopping cart it went.  Did you know that January is National “Thank You” Month?  Yup, it’s a thing.  I have quite a few thank you cards that I need to send, post holiday, and I thought this would be a good starting point, with that fabulous sentiment.

I used my Misti to stamp all those cups, then colored them with 3 coloring tools; my Oatmeal Zig clean color brush, my medium brown Tombow dual brush and a white gel pen.  I use my gel pen A LOT!  I love to embellish with it, and added lots of dots to my sentiment, as well.  I was going for a “scribbled” look on my cups.  I’m a firm believer that imperfections can add a lot of character and interest to a project.  I was surprised to discover that this set, Delightful and Delicious, has retired since I made my purchase, but you can try this same design on similar stamps.  Check out the coffee, tea and cocoa selection from Verve, here.  As for my papers, I’m using this fabulous kraft card stock with glossy accents from DCWV’s Garden Charm collection along with Neenah black and white card stock and a strip of washi tape.  I love the elegance of kraft, black and white.  You can’t go wrong!  The stitched die for my sentiment is from La La Land Crafts.

Lastly, notice that yummy pastry?  It’s called Povitica (poh-vee-TEET-sah).  My sister-in-law shared some with me over the holidays.  Her heritage is Russian/Slavic and this fruit and nut sweet bread takes a minimum of 2 hours to prepare.  It’s uh-mazing.  Not to mention, it pairs perfectly with coffee, which is why my feature is called, “Coffee Buzz”.

I’ll often be sharing newsworthy tidbits (coffee/craft related) and fun pairings with your favorite beverages (such as Povitica) with my cards.  Thanks so much for the warm welcome and for stopping by today.  I appreciate you all so very much!
