Coffee Loving Papercrafters

Hello there Coffee Loving friends!  It’s Kerry here and on this FIRST DAY of 2017, I’m wishing you warm and cozy greetings for a fabulous 2017!  I created a quick little greeting to ring in the new year and to wish you well.  If you’re in the southern part of the hemisphere, I hope you’re living it up in the summer sun!I selected one of my newest stamp sets from one of our super sponsors:  Whimsy Stamps that I picked up about a month or so ago. This is its inaugural ink-up!  WOO!  I love this little Holiday Sweet Treats stamp set and it was just too cute to not jump right into my shopping cart! I love the shape of the mug, the marshmallows teetering on top, and the candy cane handle! The sentiments aren’t too shabby either!  I think by now, you can probably tell that I currently have a LOVE affair with Whimsy Stamps.  LOLTo make this card a success, I used only a few yummy tools.  I first inked up the image using Clear ink (Ranger Clear Embossing Ink) then added some black embossing powder to seal the image.  After that, I rubbed a bit of Pan Pastel on the card. Pewter, Ultramarine Blue Shade, and Magenta were the perfect colors for this card.  After adding the pastels, I splattered some Fun Stampers Journey Silk on the panel.  I selected Shimmer Gold, Silver and Outrageous Pink.  I think it works perfectly against the kraft cardstock!  I also brushed on a bit of the Silver and the Pink onto the image to add a bit more metallic color.   Although it’s a bit CAS for my cardmaking style, I still LOVE how it turned out!  I had TONS of fun playing around with colors and splashes that made this image just pop!No card of mine is complete without a little ribbon or twine so I wrapped a few twists of Black Journey twine around the top and included a little stamped snowflake (from the same set) for an embellishing touch.  Such a simple and cozy card, ‘eh?  I just love when things turn out so perfectly!  I hope you have a warm and cozy winter!
