We’re so excited to announce our October Guest Designer, Kerry McConnell!

Hi, Kerry McConnell here. I live with my hubby in Pennsylvania along with our two dogs. As empty nesters we spend a lot of time on the weekends traveling to see our boys who live in different areas of the state. Last year we were blessed to become grandparents to the best little boy, thus the reason for the increased travel!
I have been stamping since 2000 with a break for several years. I had gotten rid of most of my stamps and supplies at that time. Around 2020, I started this wonderful hobby again. Oh, how things have changed since my first round of stamping! I love all the dies, embossing folders, and embellishments. Sometimes I am not sure if my hobby is shopping for supplies or stamping!

Kerry here with my first card as a guest designer for the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Blog. These cute little bees by Clearly Besotted fit into my love of cutesy stamps! I typically work on my cards in steps when time allows. I start by stamping the imagines and then cutting them out with coordinating dies or in this case on my Brother Cut-n-Scan. I then color my images with alcohol markers (usually in the evenings while watching TV) and then I let the colored images lead me to what the final project will be.

For this card I decided the Six Window Cover – Creative Cut by Mama Elephant would be the perfect backdrop for the bees. The cut out windows were ink blended with various Distress Oxide Inks and glued back in place with liquid glue. Then I attached the bees with a low-profile foam tape to five of the openings. I stamped the saying with Simon Says Stamp’s Nocturne Black VersaFine Clair Ink onto the opening without a bee.

For the finishing touch, I added Stickles to each of the coffee mugs, cups, and pitcher.

Hope you enjoy my card featuring these happy, caffeinated bees!
Until next time…happy stamping!
Kerry
