Happy Monday! Mary here, and I am warning you, this will not be my typical blog post. It’s going to be a bit sentimental. I am sharing a card today inspired by my mother. I thought this would be appropriate since Mother’s Day is this Sunday.

My mom was an amazing woman. She raised four kids, worked full time as an editor and writer, and was very involved in her community. And, she was my best friend.

My mother is also the inspiration for the name of my blog here at the Coffee Loving Papercrafters. She wrote a weekly column called “Coffee Break.” Though most of her columns were not about coffee, her way of writing made you feel like you were sitting, sipping and having a conversation with her. Unfortunately, I did not inherit the writing gene (insert sad face here). However, my daughter did (insert smiley face here)!
It has been over 27 years since my mom passed, and not a day goes by that I don’t feel her absence. Time has softened the sharp edges of the grief, but the ache of missing her is still deeply woven into who I am. I often wonder what she would say, what advice she would give, or how she’d react to life I’ve built. I’d give anything to sit and have a cup of coffee with her today.

I used the following products to create this card:
~A Cup of Java stamp set from Stamp Simply
~Coffee Mug die from My Favorite Things
Wishing all of the moms a very happy Mother’s Day! Cheers to you all.
Hugs and mugs,
Mary
