Have you played with digitals much? I use Avery.com to help me with the process:

I use their A2 card template. It’s super easy to upload the images/sentiments that you want to combine.

Angie Blom Digital Designs also includes card files for you too!

I generally use watercolor paper and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers [don’t forget about their blender pen!] when I print digitally. I use a [very old] laser printer.

Some of the details I fill in completely with color, others I blend with the Zig Blender.
