I am popping in as I couldn’t wait to bring some Spooooooookiness to you today! I have been seeing a lot of colorful Halloween cards with gorgeous backgrounds and had to create one too. I am excited to share my creation with you.
Do you ever see a stamp and think, I am not so sure? Then you see the designer samples and think, “WOW.” The samples for the “Hello Dear” stamp set from Unity Stamp Co blew me away. I knew right away I wanted to ink it up and use water colors.
I pictured this sweet lady with the cutest witch hat atop her head. The Colorado Craft Big and Bold Back Cat Accents Only Die was perfect.

Super Sponsor supplies I have used for this card:
- Unity Stamp Co: Hello Dear unmounted cling rubber stamp
- Hero Arts: Arches Infinity Dies
- Simon Says Stamp: Hocus Pocus (Sentiment) Exclusive Stamp Set
- SSS: Colorado Craft: Big & Bold Black Cat and Dies
- SSS: Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxides: Fossilized Amber, Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch
- SSS: Kuretake Zigs Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor 30 pk

I inked the Unity image on watercolor paper with Versafine Black Onyx Ink and used a water brush and palette with Zig brush markers to color her in.

My base card was and an arch piece of paper were blended with three colors of Distress Oxide Inks. The hat is two die cuts. One layered behind the image, and one popped up with foam tape atop the first. Water and white gel pen are added to the background after affixing the arch panel.

The witch image and hat are popped up on foam tape to the arch panel. A black strip of paper is added and the sentiment is layered with another smaller strip of black paper. Here you can see it is a 3D effect where the hat brim is folded outward, but can folded down for fitting into the envelope.

I hope you are inspired to created lovely blended backgrounds and get inky!
