July 12 – Guest Designer

Happy Friday! Patricia is back with us with another scrapbooking spread:

Hello Coffee (and Tea) Friends!  I have a fun scrapbooking spread to share today!  When I started scrapbooking, I used 8.5×11 or 12×12, but currently I use either Traveler’s Notebook, or 6×8 sizes.  Today  I’m using the Citrus Twist Life Crafted Original Album in the size of a traveler’s notebook.  We’re going to create a fun title, be inspired by color and design of a photo, and use ephemera from the tea shop.

For this project, I am using three photos from a trip to our favorite Boba tea shop on our recent vacation to New York.  For the page on the left, I used a 4×6 of the photo I took inside the shop to adhere to a 8.25×5.5 white cardstock page.  What is nice about the album, is this 8.25×5.5 is the largest page you can create which I love.  Citrus Twist Kits does offer the original traveler’s notebook size page protector as well.  The Kung Fu Tea logo was so colorful in the shop, and inspired the colors and design of the spread.  I used that inspiration with that photo by trimming and adhering pattern paper at an angle.

I used stamps from my stash and alpha stickers for the title.  But my favorite is using the Kung Fu Tea logo.  I did a google search to find it, printed it on cardstock, detail cut it out and added it to complete my title.  I also punched reinforced circles for my page to add more color, added enamel dots for added color and texture, and a large floral die cut from Illustrated Faith.

As a scrapbooker, I love to collect ephemera from the places we visit.  I used the straw wrapper and attached it over a piece of the pattern paper.  I finished this side with a piece of fabric from Illustrated Faith, and a date stamp.

For the right side, I used the Citrus Twist Life Crafted, Page Protector #6, which has 3 pockets, two that fit an instax size photos (2.14″ x 3.39”) and one that fits roughly a 4.375”x3-7/16”.  I do not use a instax printer or camera for this pocket, I just love the look of it!  I use Lightroom to size and print my photos to either look like an instax print or a full size.  You can see the two photos at the top, with one having a border like an instax, and the other doesn’t.  Having the border, gives me a place for journaling or stamping as I did here.  I added my journaling to the larger pocket and then trimmed a large die cut that continued my colorful spread.

Similar to creating a card, scrapbooking focuses on one thing, the photos.  So taking and using photos that inspire me really help to jumpstart the story using products and design.  Anyone else love Boba Tea?!  My favorite is anything green tea, my daughter gets the slush LOL  Thank you again for letting me guest with you, see you soon!
