Top It Off Tuesday with Kimberly: Let’s do Coffee

Kimberly Wiener here – Hey there coffee pals!

I have a few card designs with the same stamps that show you don’t have to add color or get messy with background techniques to have drama.  These designs are perfect for making multiple notecards for gift giving, or for your holiday thank you cards.

Picket Fence Studio has this lovely image in their “Iconic Beauty” section of clear stamps.

I must agree, I think it is bold, incredibly beautiful, and wonderfully iconic.

The design is very simple. Let the stamp speak for itself. The busy background draws your eye to focus on the lovely image, and the sentiment strip grounds the image.

The background paper is from the Echo Park’s Bee Happy Collection.  I cut the “Happy as can Bee” 12×12 paper to 4 x 5.25 (I just love the other side as well, all the sweet bees) and affixed to a white cardstock base. I stamped the Iconic Beauty: Scarlett in Memento Tuxedo Black, and fussy cut it out.  The sentiment Time for Tea Designs The Perfect Blend is available at Simon Says Stamp, was stamped on a white cardstock strip in both vertical and horizontal lengths for an A2 card.  Both the sentiment strip and the image were glued flat for mail friendly cards.

I have chosen a coffee related sentiment, however, a Thank You sentiment, or Thinking of You would be just as amazing.

Funny true story, I must share, since this stamp is named Scarlett.  When my mom was pregnant with me, she was reading the novel Gone with the Wind.  She also had a friend that worked for the Kimberly Clark corporation.  So my name was either going to be Scarlett, or Kimberly.  My grandmother was of the opinion that Kimberly was more suitable.  So there you go, how I got my name.  I agree with my grandma on that one.

Until next time, I hope that you are feeling creative, and know that it’s ok to be simple in your cardmaking.  Do what you love, share kindness, and be easy on yourself.
