CLC Coffee Date | Shanna & Amanda

Time for another coffee date!!  This is Shanna today and I am super excited to go on my “coffee date” with a good friend, and current Brew Crew member Amanda Wilcox from Twiddler’s Nook!
We decided for our date we would channel inspiration from the current challenge from Super Sponsor Newtons Nook Designs.  The greens are so fun and springy!  The Inky Paws Challenge has it’s own link up as well if you’d like to play along!
Here is what Amanda had to say:
Thank you, Shanna, for inviting me for this fabulous coffee date! I had a blast creating this card and am excited to share it with all the wonderful coffee lovers out there!
I started by stamping the Newton’s Mug image on copic paper. Then I stamped it a second time on a full-stick post-it and cut the mug out so I had a mask. I pulled a shamrock image from Newton’s Lucky Clover and stamped it all over the mug. I also stamped the cute hat from that set at the same time. After removing the mask I colored everything with my copic markers and used coordinating dies to cut them images out.
Next, I foiled the new Shamrocks hot foil plate on white cardstock with Thermoweb Gold Unicorn hot foil. Then I used distress oxide inks to add color to my panel. I chose lucky clover, rustic wilderness and mowed lawn for my combo. I spritzed the panel with water, blotted it dry and flicked white paint across it after that.

Once it was dry, I trimmed the panel down to 4×5.25 and turned it into a full shaker recycling some stamp packaging I had. I added Twiddler’s Nook embellishments for my shaker mix – white crimped sequins, press your luck and tinker bell pixie dust – and attached it to a white card base with EZ tear tape. Next, I added the image and sentiment circle with foam squares to a vellum label cut from the Newton’s Nook Frames Squared die set.
For finishing touches I added glossy accents to the hat buckle and kitty nose. Then finished the whole thing off with a pink heart from Twiddler’s Nook Sweetheart mix under the sentiment.
I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!

For mine I went with the same Newton’s Mug stamp and die set–but paper pieced the mug with the same shade of green I stamped the Caffeinated Cats stamp for my background.  To add a little contrast, I used super sponsor Ink on 3 Atelier Ink in Goddess Green and an Bitty Blending Brush from The Rabbit Hole Designs to darken the edges and also stamp the sentiment!
The background panel was trimmed down to 3/75″ x 5″ before adding the sentiment strip with a stapler and some wet adhesive.  I next added the Newton’s Mug image directly onto the panel.
Next I grabbed some of my favorite green embellishments from Twiddler’s Nook –Luscious Lime Confetti Stars and Press Your Luck Confetti– and added a bit of bling around the focal image and on the sentiment strip.  All that was left was to mount the panel to a white a2 card base and the card was finished!
Thank you so much for joining me and Amanda today for our coffee date!  See you all again soon, Shanna.
