Happy September! We’re so happy to introduce our Guest for September, Jennifer K.
Jennifer K (K is for Katherine) here to publicly “Espresso my love” for making cards. I’m also so excited to be invited to be the September Guest Designer at Coffee Loving Cardmakers.

I credit the Coffee Lovers with inspiring me to get more involved in the great international card making community. It’s such a friendly, talented, supportive group and the wide variety of sponsors showcased are terrific.

A couple years ago I altered my career path & no longer work outside the home. I chose to call it a promotion to “Chief Domestic Officer.” Now maybe instead I should call myself a stay at home dog parent, lawn care specialist, barber, chef, barista, household supplies manager, janitor, general accountant…oh so many different hats to wear at home! I drink lots of coffee to stay on top of things in an active lifestyle at my rural Missouri home shared with my husband and sweet Labrador retriever.
Fully caffeinated & with creative energy to spare, I have been crafting more & more. I discovered the Coffee Loving Blog Hop last fall & I just never quit making and posting cards to my Instagram account. Yep, definitely no more half-caff for me.

Here’s a list of the main supplies for this new coffee inspired card:

The card background uses an Altenew stencil and a few of my favorite Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks, Cantaloupe, Sprout, & Marine. I kept the included center mask in place with the stencil & started with the Cantaloupe ink then added Sprout and Marine colors, each lightly blended on top of the stencil on some basic white cardstock.

I cut the die twice, once in white and other with Lawn Fawn watercolor pattern paper that closely matched my light teal blue card base. I layered the two die cuts together for added dimension then covered the white heart shape that popped out of the coffee steam with a generous spread of Gina K Designs Glitz Glitter Gel. I then glued the layered die cut and glittered steamy heart into the center of my stenciled background.
I didn’t have to look long to choose just the right sentiment for the coffee heart. The sentiment is from Newton’s Nook Designs set, Love Cafe.

Just a few added confetti bits for a touch more shine and the card is done. I enjoyed picking out one stencil, one die & one stamp to see what I could create.
Thanks for scrolling this far. I’ve got more stamps brewing for next time. Since I recently reorganized, I rediscovered treasures in my stash perfect for all coffee lovers. Until then, enjoy your last weeks of summer and all the iced coffee drinks you can!
