We’re so happy to have our June Guest – Nancy, back with us:
Hello there, I am back today and it’s already Week 3 for me here at the Coffee Loving Card Makers Blog. Boy oh boy am I enjoying my time here with Amy and the Brew Crew and I am a bit sad that this month is flying by so quickly. As far as my card goes, I was looking at the sentiments that came with the Ellen Hutson All Inside Stamp Set where Mr. Bear comes from, when the idea to complete the top sentiment popped into my head, “Sometimes you have to make your own… COFFEE.” After all, you can’t go to Dunkin 7 days a week, that would be weird. I’m glad I only go 3 days a week. Once I had the greeting down, my card evolved from there.

Everyone who is a cardmaker is probably familiar with Ellen’s famous Bear. He is one of my favorites for sure, I only wish he had a name. If he does, and you know, please indulge me as I don’t like just calling him Mr. Bear. Not sure he likes it much either.

I did a bit of sponging with Oxide Inks for my background. I made the deckled framed stencil first out of acetate using some Deckled Edge Spellbinders dies. Then I gave Mr. Bear a little bit of shading of his own with colored pencil and a bit of chalk to Pink up his cheeks. The cute little sun comes in the same set but the word Coffee is from a wonderful old/retired stamp company called Verve.

The coffee cup was made with Layering Coffee Cup Stencils from Pretty Pink Posh. I added the die-cut heart to the front and fussy-cut the cup out for Mr. Bear to hold. I colored the sun with some Copics and Prismas.
I hope you have a wonderfully creative day and perhaps it can include a coffee, or tea if you prefer.
I will see you next Friday and until them happy creating,
Nanc’
