Happy Monday and welcome back. I don’t know about you, but I am finding it hard to believe that Thanksgiving is this week. I like to put my Christmas decorations up during Thanksgiving break, so I need to get busy! I decided to make some fun, caffeinated ornaments. These are simple to create and look adorable on a tree, wreath or package. I am also entering this into the current Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #11.
To create the ornament, I die cut 2 of the mugs from Hero Arts Light and Mug Tag die. On one of them, I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts Holiday Foliage Messages. I ink blended the edges of the mug with Ranger Distress Ink in Antique Linen. I colored in the tiny holly with Tombow Markers (#173 nd #755) and also added red Zig Wink of Stella to the berries. Here’s my hack for the whipped cream – I die cut it from white, textured specialty paper. I think this would be easy to recreate using any small patterned embossing folder on white paper. l love how this looks!
Next, I created the pine and holly accents using punches I had in my stash, I flicked white acrylic paint to make the “snow.” I also used red Wink of Stella on these berries, I arranged these elements on the plain mug and sandwiched them by adhering the sentiment mug on top. Lastly, I added matching bakers twine to complete the ornament.
How cute is that?!? I love how easily this came together. I plan to make several of these for my coffee loving friends!
