Christmas recipe: a cup of cheer

Hello there- Christine here with a recipe for a Christmas card. Take one Super Sponsor (The Greetery), 2 ink pads, 3 stencils and many colors of distress oxide ink and you’ve got it- this Christmas card that I’ve made for today.

I used Neenah solar white 110lb cardstock for the panel, images and the card base- I prefer the thickness that really holds up to being sent in the mail. I first stenciled all the images from the Cooking Up Christmas stencil and stamp set in with different distress oxides inks and finger daubers (since some of the stenciling is so small). Use whatever color you would like- I didn’t have time to play around much and love the muted colors used in the example sheet that comes in the set, so I stuck to muted distress oxide inks: speckled egg (my favorite color in all the distress line, scattered straw, weathered wood, etc).

I then stamped the images around and on the ingredients as shown using black ink and green ink.  I then made a second panel of stenciled images, mostly without stamping, and die cut them out with the Cooking Up Christmas die set. Placing some of the images propped up with adhesive squares really creates more interest than a single layer card.

Thank you so much for stopping by- wishing you a wonderful day!
