Hello and welcome! I am so glad you dropped by today! This is Shanna from Caffeinated Craftiness, back with another Mug Shot Monday!
I am VERY much ready for cooler weather—since that isn’t happening anytime soon in California–I will have to supplement my dreams with crafting! I knew I *had* to have these adorable dies from our newest Super Sponsor Pixi Dust Designs. I actually grabbed all 4 on a recent sale of theirs as they debuted—so awesome! When I got my happy mail I absolutely had to create with these cuties, and of course grabbed the snowman first in my quest for coolness.
The dies cut perfectly and I assembled m y adorable snowman mug and set him aside. Then I grabbed the A-7 Snowflake Frame die set from super sponsor Trinity Stamps and started die cutting. I kept my colors neutral–with a splash of green and red, to keep the snowman mug the star. I grabbed some Trinity embellishments and added some to the mug as well (Can you spot the three different ones I used??). My sentiment came from the same Snowflake Frame die set and fit perfectly. It was diecut in silver paper, along with some additional snowflakes to help tie it all together.
Right before gluing–I decided I wanted a little more interest in my background and pulled a snowflake stencil from my stash (I am unsure which company–sorry!) and used some transpired texture paste from ranger. It didn’t photograph well–but it looks so neat in the background without overwhelming anything.
Do you like die cutting? Or are you more of a stamper? I’d love to hear!
That wraps up my Mug shot [of espresso] Monday post! I will be back in a couple weeks with another crafty shot! Until then you can always find me and follow along with my caffeinated adventures over on instagram @caffeinated.craftiness.
