Happy Monday and welcome back!
Today I am sharing a card featuring a really cool die from super sponsor Erin Lee Creative. My daughter gave this to me as a gift a while ago and I really wanted to play with it. I had so much fun creating this card!
Here’s what I used to create my card:
- Erin Lee Creative Coffee Heart Die
- Sentiment from My Favorite Things Perk Up stamp set
- Ranger DIstress Oxide inks: Walnut Stain, Festive Berries, and Kitsch Flamingo
At first, I thought about paper piecing the heart-shaped steam, but I really didn’t like it filled in. That’s when I decided to ink blend it. I die cut it out of brown cardstock, since I knew I wanted the coffee to be brown. Because the steam is forming a heart, I thought I should add some red and pink. I ink blended Distress Oxide in Festive Berries with the Rabbit Hole Designs Bitty Blending brush. Then, I blended Kitsch Flamingo on the top portion of the steam.
Next, I die cut 2 of the coffee heart dies out of black cardstock. I trimmed the heart steam off and then layered them onto the brown die cut. I like that the coffee cup is a bit thicker and adds some dimension to the card.
Before I glued the diecuts onto my card, I decided I wanted to do some ink splattering. Splattering is my jam, lol. I used Walnut Stain Distress Oxide and kept the splatters to the top half of my card so the sentiment would not be hard to read. I used my heat tool to quickly dry the ink.
I heat embossed the sentiment and glued the stacked diecut in place.
I really cannot espresso how much it means to be able to share my cards with you!
Hugs and Mugs,
Mary
