Happy Sunday! We have our long term Guest Designer back with us, Carrie!
Hello, my coffee-loving friends! I am excited to share another project with you. In the states Father’s Day is celebrated in June, so I decided to share a card with a more masculine feel. This is a smaller slimline with pockets that you can fill with sweet sentiments, treats, or gift cards.

On the outside of the card, I created a simple background with inked coffee ring images and layers of paper. I added just a tiny bit of stitching to bring some texture to the design.
The image is from my Honey Bee stamp collection shaded with watered-down reinkers. I wanted it to have an imperfect look with little details, so I made sure not to add too much ink and used quite a bit of water to desaturate the ink.

The card base is an SVG file I created and cut with my Cricut. If you do not own a cutting machine, my video shows the folding instructions so that you can figure out the template.
The folded card is only about six inches tall and a little less than three inches wide. I designed it with four pockets inside which I decorated with some paper and tags.

The tag dies from Newton’s Nook create some adorable pieces that fit perfectly in those pockets. My plan is for my children to write a note to their dad on the tag, and add a gift card to one of his favorite places.
After adding tags and gifts, this card is a little too thick to stay closed. My solution was to add a little belly band around the base of the card.

This card design is a simple one to make. It has a great masculine feel and will be enjoyed by the person you send it to.
Thank you again for having me as a guest on the blog. I hope that this project inspired you to try something new.
