Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend celebrating Easter, Passover, Ramadan or Spring.
Today, I am sharing a sweet tea card. I’m smitten with these adorable bunnies.
I made this card for a co-worker who is celebrating a birthday this week. She is an avid tea drinker so I wanted to create a tea-themed card.
I used the following products:
- Bunny Brew Stamps and Dies from The Rabbit Hole Designs
- Seed Packet Honey Cuts from Honey Bee Stamps
- Copic Markers: RV00, R83, C5, C2, C00, W5,W3, W1 W00
- Patterned Paper: Lawn Fawn 12×12 Pink Sprinkle
Aren’t these bunnies adorable?!?
I wanted to create a pocket to add a tea bag to the card. Instead of coming up with something on my own, my daughter suggested that I modify the seed packet from Honey Bee Stamps. I thought that was a great idea! I die cut the packet and then used a deorative border die to cut the packet down to the size I needed. Next, I stamped the sentiment and glued it together.
I decided I wanted to stabilize my die cut pieces a bit. I ended up die-cutting 3 of each image out of scrap cardstock. I glued two to the back of the bunny teacup, and I glued 3 to the back of the spoon, since it was in front of the teacup. Adding those additional die cuts made my colored images pop up off the pocket. I love the dimension it added.
I adhered my patterned paper to an A-2 cardbase and then attached the pocket. Next, I glued the bunny images to the pocket. Lastly, I slid a tea bag into the pocket.
I hope my co-worker enjoys her tea card and I hope you liked it too!
XOXO
Mary
