Mary Rose is back again with a fun + clever project:
Hello! I am Mary Rose Kulczak, and you can find me hanging out at Mary Rose’s Cafe, where I’ve been serving up crafty brews on my blog since 2008! I’m thrilled to be a guest designer, as March is a month that makes me so happy. Hello, Spring! Today’s Brew is a spring-flavored concoction that makes me think of warmer days and sidewalk cafes.

I made this card to look like a sidewalk chalkboard easel sign that you might find in front of your favorite cafe. The easel die and stamps are from Hero Arts (My Monthly Hero Kit). I used white embossing powder for the coffee cup and sentiment, and used a white pigment ink pad on the edges to give it the chalkboard feel.

To make the easel, I cut out two easel die cuts with kraft card stock, and stamped both with some wood grain elements from Concord and 9th’s Petals and Pallets stamp set. I then made a small top fold card base, and adhered the front and back easels to this. I also used a die and stamp from Concord and 9th’s Globe Greetings to make the colorful pennant.

The butterflies and flowers are from Lawn Fawn (Mini Pop-Up Butterflies dies, Spring Sprig dies). I used a little clear Wink of Stella to give the butterflies some sparkle.

And here’s one of my favorite sidewalk cafe signs. If asked “How do you take your coffee? ”, I’d reply “Seriously. Very seriously.” Yep. That’s me!

Coffee is always a good idea! I hope your day is “seriously” awesome!
