We’re so excited to welcome Vanessa B to the blog. She is an International Tea Day Top Pick.
Hello CLC! Vanessa here (vanessacardmaker on IG), and I am so happy to be here today as a guest designer. Thank you Amy and the team for always making the CLC group inspiring and so much fun over the years.

Grab today by the beans! That sentiment makes me laugh!! That is a stamp from a Casual Friday stamp set called Hot Coffee sentiments. I thought it was perfect for the inside of my inspirational coffee themed card of encouragement. I mean, let’s be honest, inspiring words are great but coffee helps motivate!

I chose to work with the Stamplorations New Beginning stamp set. I recently got it and thought it would pair nicely with a coffee theme. I Chose the circle scene to place on a coffee cup sleeve.
The coffee cup I used on this card is The Stamps of Life Coffee Cup fold-it die set, which means it’s intended to make a shaped card. I chose to put it on an A2 sized card instead. I die cut the pieces and assembled it (note: the coffee sleeve I cut from a bag that Honey Bee Stamps lovingly wrapped an order in. I save them all for projects).
I stamped the image on white cardstock and colored it using Distress Oxide Inks (mustard seed, ripe persimmon, old paper, and mowed lawn). The bitty bunny blending brushes from The Rabbit Hole Designs are perfect for small areas. I added a little shading as well as colored in the trees with colored pencil, then I sprayed it with a shimmer spray. Using a dotted circle die (tsol), I cut the image out and backed it with a black circle die cut. I stamped my sentiment directly onto the cup and attached the circle scene using dimensional foam tape to the front..
I pulled some old Craft Smith embossed paper from my stash, and cut it with a 5 1/4 x 4 layering rectangle die. I lightly sanded the edges and glued it to a black card base. I used dimensional foam tape to attach the cup to the card front, and then I finished off the card by adding the leaf dies (friends4ever, tsol) and the flower (scan n cut in white and ink blended with oxide inks).
Every new day is another chance to change your life.
Have a great day!
