Hello and welcome! I am so glad you dropped by today! This is Shanna from Caffeinated Craftiness, back with another Mug Shot Monday!
The New Year is off to a beautiful start—fresh beginnings and all that. I love the season between Christmas and Spring—still wintery enough, but color starts to creep back into everything. I am playing along with super sponsor Newton’s Nook Designs today with their Color Challenge #164 for my Mugshot Monday this week! I loved the color palette and couldn’t resist pulling out my NND Newton’s Mug to color up. Isn’t he cute??
For my card base, I stenciled directy onto my card base after masking off the bottom portion. I used the NND Mugs Stencil and some Distress Oxide Fired Brick (albeit lightly–it needs re-inking) with my Trinity Stamps blending buddy brush. While the stencil was still in place, I added a layer of Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste top add some sparkles!
I colored Newton using my Copic Markers, and then paper pieced the mug with a scrap of red polka dot paper I had in my drawer. I popped him onto the card with some foam tape and then stamped the sentiments from NND Love Cafe stamp set in a light gray ink below. I finished off the card with a smattering of sprinkles using super sponsor Trinity Stamps Crafty Roast clay coffee beans and their Sweet and Tart hearts. Ta-Da!!!!
Here is a look at the official challenge inspiration. You can see more details over at the NND Blog.
That wraps up my first official Mug shot [of espresso] Monday post! I will be back in a couple weeks with another crafty shot! Until then you can always find me and follow along with my caffeinated adventures over on instagram @caffeinated.craftiness.
