Hey friends! It’s Amanda from Twiddler’s Nook popping in for a coffee date on this fine Christmas Eve with my friend Beata June! We thought it would be fun to choose a stamp set and a layout and just create! So that’s what we did. Today we’re sharing cards featuring Mama Elephant’s Hot Cocoa stamp set and a slimline trio style layout! I hope you love both of our cards!
Let’s start with Beata’s beautiful creation. I’m going to hand it over to her to explain how she made this stunning card.
I stamped the three critters in the mugs from the Mama Elephant Hot Cocoa stamp set using my misti stamping tool and Gina K. Designs amalgam ink. I colored the stamped images with copic markers and cut them out.
Then I cut out three square window panels from white cardstock using the Whimsy Stamps Slimline Film Strip die. Then I blended each window with Ranger Ink Tim Holtz Blue Ribbon distress oxide ink and Black Soot distress ink using my Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blender Brushes. Then I splattered the windows with water and white paint.
I cut out two stitched slimline rectangle panels using the largest rectangle dies from the Trinity Stamps slimline card series stitched card panels and windows die from white and red cardstock, and splattered the red slimline panel with white paint. I mounted the red panel onto the white stitched panel, mounted that onto a piece of black cardstock and cut the edges with a paper trimmer leaving a thin black border. Then I mounted that onto a piece of patterned paper.
Next, I glued the three blended window panels onto the red slimline rectangle and glued one of my colored critters onto each window using a Lawn Fawn glue tube, making sure to leave some room above my middle window panel for my sentiment.
Then I stamped mint leaves and marshmallows from the Mama Elephant Hot Cocoa set, colored them with copic markers, cut them out, and glued them to my two outer windows with a Lawn Fawn glue tube.
I stamped the “Wishing You Comfort and Joy” sentiment from the Mama Elephant Hot Cocoa set onto white cardstock with Ranger Ink Tim Holtz Candied Apple distress oxide ink, cut it out, and glued it above my penguin in the center window.
To finish my card, I added white highlights to my colored images with a Sakura white gelly roll pen.
Thanks for stopping in.

Hey friends, it’s Amanda again. Isn’t that card just gorgeous!?! I’m absolutely in love with everything about it! I’m going to switch gears to my card now.
For my card, I colored the images with my copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I cut the hexatag from glitter cardstock and layered the snowflake version over the top in light blue. Then I tied twine bows at the top for a little texture.
On my background panel I ink blended distress oxide ink in spun sugar and festive berries on a white panel. I spritzed it with water and flicked pearl watercolor all over. Once it was dry, I die cut and adhered a slimline plaid panel from Pink & Main.
To assemble my card, I adhered the tags to the front panel with liquid glue and popped the images up with foam squares. Then I pulled out the Easy Christmas Messages set out, stamped and die cut one, then popped it up with a foam strip.
For finishing touches on this card, I added glossy accents to various things like noses and beaks, peppermint sticks and tea tags. Then I came in with unicorn Stickles on hats and whipped cream for some extra sparkle.
Isn’t this just the sweetest!?! I hope you’re all ready for Christmas tomorrow. I totally am and I’m almost more excited than the kids! So silly but I love it all!
