Sending a Latte Love

Welcome back to Coffee Break Monday with Mary. The holidays are here and it sure is a busy time, so I wanted to send you all a “Latte Love.”

I usually struggle a bit with shaker cards, but I really wanted to make a festive one to share with you today. For my card, I used the following products:

~Lawn Fawn Stitched Mug Frame and Outside In Stitched Mug

~ Stamp Market Pierced Plaid Cover Die

~Sentiment from Simon Says Stamp For All Moms stamp set

~Peace on Earth patterned paper by Simple Stories

~Red and Light Green cardstock and sequins from my stash

I started by using the Stamp Market cover die on a piece of light green paper to add texture to the back of my shaker. Next, I cut 6 mug frames out of the same green paper. I glued 5 of the frames together to build up some depth to the shaker. I also cut a mug out of JudiKins Embossable Window Plastic and adhered it to the top of my stacked frames. On top of the plastic, I adhered my last mug frame. Now it was time to complete the shaker. I turned my frames over, so I had a well to add my shaker bits into. Before adding my bits, I used my new Rabbit Hole Designs Cotton Tail Embossing Tool to take away the static and let my shaker do its thing. I added some sequins and silver snowflakes as well as some paper hearts and dots. I was really happy with my color mix! To seal my shaker, I glued the complete mug to the frames.

While the mug was drying, I cut out each of my background panels. I knew I wanted to heat emboss my sentiment, so I put the red panel in my MISTI, decided the placement of the sentiment, and prepped my cardstock with the Cotton Tail Embossing Tool. Next, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark embossing ink and sprinkled Brutus Monroe Raven embossing powder over it and finally heat embossed it. I love how clean this embossed (thank you Rabbit Hole Designs for this amazing tool!)

To put all of the pieces together, I adhered my patterned paper to a standard A2 cardbase and then centered the red panel on top. I then glued my shaker element to the card and added some steam that I die cut from vellum to finish it off.

I hope you enjoyed today’s coffee break! If you would like to see more caffeinated creations, please follow me on Instagram @maryredjr

Thanks!

Mary
