We’re on the final day of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! Today, we have a special coffee loving guest joining us. It is Erika from Catherine Pooler Designs!

Well Happy Fall Y’all!! It’s the final day of the Fall and Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. Coffee fiend Erika Post here with you today, and I am thrilled to be joining in.

Even though I am a year round coffee lover, I get a little bit of extra excitement when it starts cooling off. It feels like Fall just begs me to invite an afternoon coffee in addition to my ritual morning brew!
Today I want to share two Fall inspired cards I made with goodies from Super Sponsor Catherine Pooler Designs. I started off this project like I do most of my cards by choosing a color combo. I wanted to work with Spa Inks, which have muted undertones. I picked a warm trio of colors with the pink, peach, and yellow and then added a pop of blue-green.

I wanted to play with the Painted Leaves Stamp Set. I love these patterned leaves and I like how big they are. I thought they would make a fun backdrop for my coffee cups. I grabbed a couple different coffee sets from my stash but settled on a classic favorite of mine, Baby It’s Cold Outside.
I love this line art set. I enjoy “painting my cups” with my CP Ink Refills and a bit of water to make them look like stoneware. I flicked color to add a flicked glaze effect and I painted the bottoms in Clay Mask to add that terracotta mug feel.

I grabbed the Buffalo Plaid Background Stamp and the Plaid Background Stamp. I wasn’t sure which one I wanted to use but once I had all my pieces laid out, I was ready to get to building!
I wanted to play up the layers on my first card so I created a layer with a cover plate and frame die. I like that the pattern allows the background stamped piece to sneak some color through. I then played with layering the die cut leaves to create a visual focal point.

I grabbed a tag die and one of the sentiments from the Give Thanks Sentiment Stamp Set (which I just LOVE!) and glued everything together. Ta-da!
I had extra pieces left and so a second card was in order. Just a few tweaks to the layout and it has a buddy! This time I wanted to use the Hello Autumn stamp and make the sentiment a bold centerpiece to the card. While using most of the same elements, but with a few tweaks, you can create a completely different project.

I just used a strip of the Plaid Background Stamp piece for that added bit of texture and color.
I also adore some Kraft Cardstock in the mix. These cards feel warm like a pumpkin spice latte with cinnamon whip on top!! Hope you love them and feel inspired to use this color combo or some other element on your next coffee card creation!!
