Hello Coffee Lovers!!
Today, I am veering off the path a little! Instead of being inspired by my feature of Paper Crafters Handmade Cards and Card Creations for Him, I am using the Ellen Hutson Bear Cozy Kit. If you have the kit (or thinking about it) I have another way to use it, which could become a basic supply in your craft room!!
So I love cats and knew I wanted to try to make a little kitty cozy!! I started with the cozy die and the light grey felt from the kit. I trimmed off the rounded ears, so they would be points instead. I used the half circle die and some scissors to shape some of the pink felt for the pink inside ear.
For the mouth I used the heart die from the kit and the dark grey floss to stitch in some whiskers. The eyes were made from the half-circle die and a little cutting down of a small piece of the cream felt for the white part of the eye. Then I added stitching along the top and bottom of the cozy. Finally, I stitched the cozy closed.
I also wanted to make a matching card, so I basically repeated the steps above, except for the decorative stitching. From the pink felt, I cut the bow tie and added some details with the pink floss.
The sentiment came from a My Favorite Things stamp set that was hanging out on my desk, it was just the right size to fit on the bow. I adhered the second cat cozy to a pink card and trimmed off the excess!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to use your Bear Cozy Kit in different ways!!
