Now Amanda has something pretty fabulous to share with you…
Hey friends! It’s time for a special Tuesday Tea with Twiddler’s Nook to carry on the celebration until National Coffee Day tomorrow! Each day we’ve been highlighting a super sponsor that’s sharing a special prize to celebrate and today I’m spotlighting Thermoweb! They have a fabulous array of products that sometimes we don’t think about but they are SO USEFUL and can be fun too!
Today I’m sharing a fun shaker card with a foiled background and have taken a few process photos along the way to help explain how easy these products are to use! Let’s dive in!
I started by cutting a piece of green cardstock and adhering my Newton’s Nook mugs stencil to it. Then I used a palette knife to scoop a glob of transfer gel blanco onto the stencil. Then I used the fabulous stencil pal to spread a perfectly thin layer over the whole panel. I removed the stencil, set my cardstock aside to dry and cleaned my tools and work surface. While this was drying I turned on my laminator to heat up and switched gears to my shaker.
Today, I used the Lawn Fawn outside in stitched mug. I cut a solid from acetate and dark teal cardstock. Then I cut the frame from the same teal and a stack of brown scraps I had from another project. I used my easy-tear tape to adhere the acetate to the teal frame and then added another layer of tape to the back for when I’m ready to seal my shaker. This keeps from having globby glue seep out of the stitching lines. I always make a mess.
Then I used ultra bond liquid adhesive pen to adhere all of the brown frames together and then to the teal base. I filled my shaker well with Twiddler’s Nook caffeinated crafting embellishment mix, removed the release paper from the window panel and sealed it up.
I also die cut the heart from the same die set out of melon cardstock and heat embossed a sentiment from Newton’s Nook Pumpkin Latte stamp set. It fit perfectly and I couldn’t resist!
With my panel dry, I ran it through my laminator with opal decofoil for a great pearlized look on the mugs. Then I die cut the panel with the largest Newton’s Nook Framework die. I also cut a piece of woodgrain cardstock with the same die to create a floor. I used Thermoweb XL tape runner to adhere this down.
Now to assemble my card, I cut a piece of burnt orange cardstock and adhered it to a white card base with tape runner. Then added 3D foam tape roll to the stenciled panel and popped it up. Then I added the mug to the background with liquid glue and put an acrylic block on top for a few minutes while it dried. I just wanted to make sure my mug wasn’t going anywhere.
To finish things off, I die cut the steam from the mug die set and adhered it down and also added the spoon to the mini scene with a combination of foam squares and liquid glue.
Here’s a look at the shaker and you can see the sheen from the opal decofoil on the stenciled mugs too! It’s so pretty in person!
