Happy Monday and welcome back to Coffee Break Monday with Mary.
I don’t know about you, but I love a good sentiment. And you know what I love even more? When the sentiment has nice typography. I read an article recently that said “Typography in its essence is used to bring the text to life.” When I saw this large sentiment, I knew I wouldn’t need to add much to complete the card. The sentiment is the star here!

I fell in love with the new Drink Coffee stamp set from the recent Simon Says Stamp Stamptember release. I love all of the fun coffee-themed sayings! I decided to create two projects.

For my card, I first stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger Black embossing powder. I used kraft card stock because I wanted the little flecks and imperfections. Next, I die cut a rectangle out of some black and white patterned paper to frame the sentiment. For the background, I used gray cardstock and a We R Memory Keepers tree embossing folder to add subtle texture. I stamped and colored two cute critters from an older Simon Says Stamp Stamptember set called More than S’Mores. This set is so perfect paired with caffeinated sentiments! I colored the raccoon and squirrel with Copic markers and die cut them. I added a few little details with white and black gel pens and added some foam to pop them up.
Here is the gift bag topper I created.

To start, I die cut a scalloped square and scored it in the middle. Next, I selected another cute sentiment from the same stamp set and heat embossed it on the topper. I die cut a to go cup from MFT’s Mini Café All Day die set and glued it together and adhered it to the topper. I then folded it and punched a hole at the top to add the ribbon. I enclosed a dark chocolate mocha Clif bar (it’s delicious!) and a Starbucks gift card. Super simple, but perfect for a coffee loving friend.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you get a chance to grab a cup o’ joe with a great friend this week.
