We’re back with Laura who is one of our Designer Picks from the 2021 Spring Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop:
Hello! My name is Rachelle and I’m so excited and honored to be the Guest Designer today on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers’ Blog!

I’m a surface designer who loves stamping and paper crafting! I worked in the wallpaper, fabric and gift wrap industries for many years and I was invited to a Stampin’ Up Party in 2001. I’m sure you know the rest of this story…I was instantly hooked on cardmaking, and I’ve never looked back! I just love the design possibilities in this small platform! I began blogging about 3 years ago and have really enjoyed design team work because I feel like it stretches me to create projects that are a bit out of my comfort zone. I also love the positive community interaction on IG & Facebook Groups and have made so many wonderful friends!
My husband and I have been married for 34 years and we enjoy DIY projects, wine tasting, volunteering, traveling and hiking in the National Parks. We moved to North Carolina 8 years ago from Ohio, (where we had lived our entire lives), and are fortunate we were both able to retire very early…this allows lots of time for crafty fun!
You can also find me on social media by stopping by my blog, RedCre8s, or on Instagram with the same username!

I was chosen as Amanda Wilcox’s “Designer Pick” during the recent 2021 Spring Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and I’m so happy to share this card based on my favorite coffee blend, “Pleasant Morning Buzz”, from Whole Foods! The old packaging design used to show bees buzzing around a flower garden with their tiny coffee cups filled to the brim and so I decided to try and recreate this scene with one of my favorite stamp sets, “Bee Happy”, from Hello Bluebird! Butterfly Reflections, Ink. always carries such a great selection of HB products and is a very generous Super Sponsor of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hops!

I stamped, water colored and die cut all of my images. I needed a few extra flowers and a glass coffee carafe and so I drew those myself with a black permanent marker and they were colored/fussy cut. I inked a slimline panel with Distress Oxides to create my sunrise background and die cut it with the largest of Pink & Main’s “Stitched Slimline Dies” (3.5″ x 8.5″). I inked/die cut the grass strip with Sunny Studio Stamps’ “Slimline Nature Border Die (rolling grass) and this was glued to the sunrise panel.

I adhered all of the images into place on the top panel and layered this with a black mat before attaching it onto my slimline card base (4′ x 9″). I added a computer-generated sentiment strip and sequins to finish up the card! I plan to give this to a special coffee lover for their birthday and will add a gift card inside so they can purchase their own favorite brew!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a great weekend!
