Hello Coffee Lovers!
Dana here with an interruption in our regular scheduled program! And what a fabulous interruption it is!! It’s National Iced Tea Day and a few of us on the DT are celebrating with some great Iced Tea projects!! Below my project is the link-up, make sure to check out all the fab projects!!
My card features the amazing die set from Trinity Stamps, Summertime Sips! A must-have for iced tea, or coffee or hot chocolate… so many possibilities! I started by cutting the cup, topper, and straw from watercolor cardstock.
To color my cup I used a few colors from my Altenew watercolor set. I colored the bottom, top, and bottom of the cup in pink. Before I did any more coloring I used the ice cubes from the die set and cut several from masking paper. Then I added them to the cup. Then I layered some brown around my ice cubes.
After the brown watercolor was dry, I removed the masking paper and then used grey watercolor to add shading to the different ice cubes. When that was dry I added a light layer of brown watercolor over the ice cubes to make it look like they are in the brown liquid but of course lighter because they are ice cubes! Last I added some brown splatters.
I added some light blue to the straw and added it to the cup by cutting a slit at the top of the cup. I did this so the straw looks like it’s in the cup.
I made a sentiment to read Sweet Tea and Friends From the Honey Bee Stamps Perfect Blend, white heat embossing on black cardstock. I added the sentiment to the teacup. I cut some fun rainbow pattern paper and added it to a mini-slime line card base. The teacup was added to the card with foam tape. Last, I added a few pink and white gems for a little sparkle.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure to check out the DT links below for some more amazing Iced Tea inspiration!! Happy National Iced Tea Day!!
Dana
