Hello Coffee Lovers!!

It’s time for Brew & Craft Your Stash and time to get our crafty inspiration from a new magazine, or in this case two magazines!! We are looking for inspiration from Paper Crafters Handmade Cards and Card Creations for Him! Both are from 2013!

Today we are getting our inspiration from Card Creations for Him! The next page in the Smart & Geeky section includes four cards. This group has two cards that are space-themed, a moon card cut with an electric cutter and the other a take on Star Trek. The other two cards have a cool school geeky vibe to them. Since I already did a space-themed card I decided to go for a school geek/nerd card for guys!

I started by go through my stamps looking for a nerdy set and I found a very old (and yellowing, but still very usable!!) Lawn Fawn set, the idea started to form! I stamped and used the matching die to cut the calculator and book from the set. Then I used my Altenew grey and brown markers to color them. I wanted to color the hearts, but they are so tiny I could easily stamp them a different color.

So I dug deep and I found some Ranger Liquid Pearls, similar to the Nuvo drops. I have a couple of these and have rarely used them, I wasn’t even sure it wasn’t hard as a rock. But, they worked good and I used them over the stamped hearts to make red dimensional hearts!

While my book and calculator were drying I pulled out STAMPlorations After Coffee stamp set. I stamped it once on light aqua card stock and then decided to dry mirror stamping. I pulled out a Neat & Tangled solid rectangle stamp and stamped the coffee cup onto it. Then laid down darker aqua card stock, pressing firmly. The ink was light, but I used a black pen to darken it up.

I pulled out three stripes from my stash that I had already cut with The Stamp Market Quick Strip dies. I adhered them to a very dark aqua card base. Below them, I stamped the sentiment You Had me at Coffee. I thought it went nicely with my somewhat of a love/nerdy theme!

After fussy cutting the cups out, I added them to the card with foam tape. Last, I added the book and calculator each to a cup.
