We’ve invited all of the 2021 Spring | Summer Designer Picks to the blog as Guest Designers! First up is Esther Ashbury:
Hello, my name is Esther, and I live in the beautiful state of Virginia with my husband, daughter, and two dogs. My mom encouraged me to take up cardmaking (16 years ago) after a move across the country left me lonely and struggling. I’ve made some wonderful friends through this hobby, and love that I can use my creations to brighten someone’s day with a bit of handmade kindness in their mailbox!

Mother’s Day Tea

As one of the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Designer Picks, I’m honored to be guest designing on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today using stamps and dies from super sponsor Sweet n Sassy Stamps.
I decided to create a card and matching bookmark to give to my mom for Mother’s Day next week, using one of my all-time favorite color schemes — blue and yellow. I stamped the teacup in antique linen distress ink on watercolor paper and did a little no-line watercoloring. The bookmark was also watercolored, and I finished both pieces off with what my daughter says has become my “signature” — spot stamped text and paint splatters!
