Challenge #74 – Change the Color of Ribbon, Lace, or Twine. The four cards in the magazines did a great job change the color of ribbon, lace, and twine with markers, spray inks, ink & shaving cream!! Yes, I said shaving cream! The ribbon has a really cool tie-dye look to it!
I decided to use some Catherine Pooler coffee supplies that I just got! To start I used All That Jazz ink pad to color some white twine. To color it, first I tried to press the pad on the twine, but that seemed to waste a lot of ink. Instead, I held my twine by both ends, holding it taut. Then I pressed the twine into the ink pad, moving the twine along as it soaked up the ink. This let me keep my fingers clean and not waste ink!
While the ink dried I pulled out Catherine Poolers Mug Shots stamp & die set and stamped the cute little kitty cup. I picked out some pattern paper from the Daily Grind pad and used a stitched rectangle to cut a panel. Since I went with a more pink/coral pattern I colored the kitty cup with a coral Spectrum Noir colored pencil.
Next, I cut a small stitched rectangle from white card stock. Then I used Black Jack and Coral Cabana to ink the sentiment. I added the kitty cup with foam tape, and then wrapped the inked twine around it and tied it in a bow.
Last, I added the small panel to the pattern paper panel and then adhered that to a white card base. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to find some ribbon or twine and change its color!!
