I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday and a happy New Year!! It’s time for Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #67 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!
Challenge #69 – Let Something Hang off the Edge. I had to skip #68, it was fine Inspiration in Pop Culture. For the life of me, I couldn’t think of anything as I looked through my stamps. time was running out, so I moved on to Challenge #69! Very easy, the magazine cards have rhinestones, a leaf, a ruler and a flag hang off the edges!
I have a bunch of Hello Bluebird stamps colored and ready to be fussy cutout, so I figured with the time crunch, now was a perfect time to use some of them. For my card, I went with the Skating Party set. To color the images I used my Spectrum Noir Colored Pencils.
I used the log from the stamp set to be the element that hangs off the card. Then I cut out two of the cute critters holding coffee cups and one of the skating critters.
For my ice skating bear, I created the icy pond with Wow Embossing Powder Fab Foil, Snowy White. I used Newton’s Nook stencil with embossing ink to ink up one order of a blue card base. Then I used Wow Embossing Powder’s Bonding Powder and melted it with a heat gun. I placed the white foil over the embossed area, flipped it over, and used a warm cloth iron to heat the back of the card stock. This melts the bonding powder enough to adhere to the foil! Lift away the extra foil and wa-la I have a white foiled ‘ice pond’!
For my snow, I pulled out an older Simon Says Stamp stencil and inked it up with a very light blue ink. For a little sparkle, I used a clear sparkle pen to color a few random dots. Then I adhered my log and critters with foam tape and last stamped the Friends Warm The Heart below the log.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to try your hand at hanging something off the edge of your card!
