Hello Coffee Lovers!! Happy Holidays!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday and a happy New Year!! It’s time for Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #67 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!
Challenge #67 – Use Pleats. Two of the magazine cards uses paper to create pleats. One card created pleats with ribbon. The last card folded and pleated paper to crate a dress!!!
For my pleats I went with paper!!! I just used my score board to score two lines every inch or two, then creased them. Then I used liquid adhesive to hold one side of the pleat down. Since I decided to do four stripes of paper, this took some time!! Thank goodness for tiny clips that can hold them close while the pleats dried!!
While my pleats dried I pulled out The Stamps of Life Hot Chocolate 2 and Patterns 4 Hot Chocolate. I stamped the outline cup on white card stock and then used the matching die to cut it out. Then I used the sentiments from Patterns 4 stamp set, masking the different words to make them all fit inside the cup.
Next, I pulled out some pattern paper and used a stitched rectangle die. Then I started adhering the pleats! That took some time too, at which I decided to swatch, reorganize and thin out my ink stash!!!
After the pleats were down and staying in place, I wrapped some black twine around the top pleat and tied in a bow. Then I adhered the cup on top of the pleats. Last, I adhered the panel to a read card base.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to pull out your paper or ribbons and make some pleats for your card!
