Brew & Craft Your Stash – Paper Piecing

Hello Coffee Lovers!!

It’s time for Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #65 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!

Challenge #65 – Paper Piecing. All four cards in the magazine are great examples with paper piecing being the star of each card.

I think Paper Piecing is my favorite technique! It’s not for everyone, but for whatever reason I like doing it! So I had this idea and I got started but by day 3 I knew it wasn’t going to get done in time! I put it aside to finish later and worked on today’s card.

I started the new card with Honey Bee Stamps Tea Time and the matching die set. First I die cut and stamped the images on white card stock. Then I pulled out different colored card stock to stamp the images. Usually you paper piece with pattern paper, but I decided to change it up a little and used colored cardstock.

After fussy cut out the images, I used a black marker to color the edges. Then I adhered the card stock images to the die cut white images.

Next, I pulled out a purple card base, some purple distress oxide and then inked up the middle of the of the card. I played around the placement of the images and then adhered them when I found the right arrangement. I decided to keep the sentiment simple and stamped Miss You below the images.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to pull out some cardstock or pattern paper and do some paper piecing!!

The act of brewing a pot of tea, getting one of my fine china cup and saucers, and sitting down with a yummy biscuit brings me pure joy. Tea has been enjoyed across the globe for centuries. White tea is the second most consumed beverage on Earth after water according to Wikipedia!
