We’re thrilled to welcome back our special October Guest Designer, Mary Reiner!! Check out her darling sweet treat for her special someone!
Last week, my husband and I celebrated our 14th anniversary. He’s a coffee lover, so I made him this cute, to-go cup shaped card. I love a good theme, so I bought him a conical burr coffee grinder and some coffee beans. He’s been really enjoying making french press coffee lately, so I thought this would make a great gift.
For my card I used the Honey Bee Stamps Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder. Since this was for my Anniversary, I wanted to make a love themed card, so I created a patterned cup using a coffee bean and heart stamp from Concord and 9th’s Coffee Blend Turnabout set. I did a Jennifer McGuire move and actually cut apart the coffee bean stamps! It’s the first time I’ve done that, but I like how it all worked out. I stamped the coffee beans in Close to My Heart Chocolate ink and the heart in Archival Cardinal ink. I knew I wanted to add the cute sentiment from the My Favorite Things Perk Up stamp set. I thought it was perfect for this card! I stamped it in Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I also used a couple gray Copic Markers to shade my cup a bit.
I was fortunate to find a scrap of paper that resembled corrugated cardboard for my cup wrap. I love how it looked and that it hid the sentiment perfectly.
Below is the inside of my card. The main sentiment is from My Favorite Things Cup of Love stamp set and the Happy Anniversary is from Close to My Heart Typed Note. I was really happy with how cute this turned out!
I also made a few birthday cards using the Honey Bee Stamps Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder. I love that I could fit a Starbucks card inside for a nice surprise.
I hope you enjoyed this week’s cards. I can’t wait to share my card next week!
