Challenge #60 – Make a Window! The magazine has some great ideas for making a window. One card used an acutall window with a birthday on the ‘inside.’ The second card made a window in the front panel and stamped on the inside of the card. The third card created a cloud window and added clouds and a rainbow around the window. The final card stamped an image and added pattern paper with a circle window to see the image.
I started my card with a Kraft card base and pulled out three Oxide Distress inks, a red, orange and purple. I was going for a fall look. The colors blended beutifuly even on Kraft card stock! I pulled out Concord & 9th’s Coffee Blend die and with a pencil traced the coffee cup before blending. I wanted to make sure all my three colors would be seen in about the area my coffee cup window would be.
After blending I added splatters of water and let that dry. Then I added some water to the purple oxide and splattered that on. When that was dry I pulled out a regular distress ink, purple and splattered that on the card.
Next, I trimmed some Kraft card stock so it was 1/4 inches shorter then my card base. I centered the coffee cup die and cut it out. I added an washi tape loop to the back of the panel and centered it on my card. This way I could stamp my sentiment with out the panel moving.
I used Divinity Designs But Coffee First sentiment stamp set to stamp an sentiment in my coffee window. Then I gently pulled up my washi tape and panel. I added foam tape to the back and adhered it on the card base with the sentiment show through my window.
Last, I added a little clear glitter pen to the dots and diamond around the sentiment, for a touch of sparkle. I really didn’t want to add sequins or enamel dots as it was all about the ink blending and the window!
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope this inspires you to try making a window in or on your card! There are so many ways to do so!!
