Brew & Craft Your Stash – Make Pattern Paper with Pens

Hello Coffee Lovers!!

It’s time for Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #59 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!

Challenge #59– Make Pattern Paper with Pens. The magazine has 4 great cards featuring this challenge! One did some awesome doodling in different pen colors. Two used rulers to create backgrounds. The last card drew flowers and leaves to create a background panel.

To make my background with pens I used a new Coffee stencil I picked up from Funky Fossil Design called Coffee Buzz. This is a quick and easy way to get this look if you don’t want to mess with rulers or you are not keen to doodle!

I used a very fine tip sharpie marker to outline the stencil, coloring in a couple of the smaller words. Then I cut it out with a stitched rectangle.

Next, I pulled out Catherine Pooler’s Life, Love, Latte stamp set and stamped it on white card stock and again on colored card stock. I cut out the coffee wrap and heart, then adhered them to the white cup. I used some grey copics to color the white parts, then cut the cup out.

From the same colored card stock I used an older Papertrey Ink leaf die and then cut some of the colored leaves and adhered them to the green leaf spring. I also cut out a spiky circle that I adhered the cup to with foam tape.

I added the stenciled panel to a black card base, then the leaf spring with foam tape. Then I added the circle with the coffee cup. I decided not to add any sentiment, since the back ground is full of sentiments!! LOL!!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to pull out your pen, use a stencil or doodle and make a background!
