Hey there coffee loving cardmaking peeps! It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another Sunday Sip project and a yummy concoction to boot!
About a month ago, I purchased this adorable stamp set “Summer Vibes” and coordinating paper pack and the Summer Vibes cardstock pack from Close To My Heart rep and Super Sponsor Chris Franco. After watching some fun online crafting events hosted by CTMH, I fell in love with this fun island collection! I knew EXACTLY what I would use that coconut for…This yummy Toasted Coconut Shakerato recipe I discovered a while back. I knew I had to try it (even if I don’t ever follow directions exactly.). SOOO…this week, while my parents are visiting, I whipped up a batch of this deelish coffee drink-my style. If you like coconut, if you like iced coffee, this is a drink you’ll love!
I started out by creating the card. I selected the melon cardstock and the leafy pattern from the printed paper pack to create a base foundation. i then added a strip of the darker side of the melon paper and cut it up fringe-style like a hula skirt. Then, I added some ribbon and twine. Next, I stamped the coconut drink and diecut it using the coordinating dies. I colored it up with Copic markers and then mounted it onto the card using foam squares. I also stamped and diecut the sentiment and placed it inside the card using some added bling to make the recipient smile. I added some bling and added some flicks of white acrylic ink before mounting this panel on a white card base.
When that was done, I moved up to the other creative space, my kitchen. I toasted some organic no-sugar added coconut shavings and a few tablespoons of Kona coffee beans together in a pan on top of the stove. After that, I ground this toasted concoction up and placed it in a mason jar so that I could have it for all my coconut coffee adventures. I also made up a batch of the delish coffee simple syrup.
Now, although I didn’t place my concoction into a coconut, I closed my eyes and imagined I was in the islands…Sipping this deelish drink through a straw. GIVE IT A TRY!!!
So are you ready to give this summer drink a test? If you do, please let us know how you like it by sharing your thoughs in the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Facebook Group!
Thanks for hopping over! See you again next week!
