We are so excited to welcome Adam Karle as our Guest Designer for August!
Hello Coffee Loving Cardmakers,
This is Adam Karle and I am taking over the blog every Friday in August. I am honored to have been chosen to participate in this community. I want to share a bit about myself with you all. I have been card making for about 8 years and my style has evolved a bit over this time but I always return to my true style of the clean and simple design. I try to stay current with new trends and love combining these trends into my style. On a personal note I have two “spoiled rotten” cats and love to travel. (I have never found a cruise I would turn down).
My first card is a combination of products from several companies:
I started with the Fresh Brewed Die from Tim Holtz which I colored by ink blending Tim Holtz Distress Ink. (Antique Linen, Tea Dye, & Vintage Photo) The cup lid was cut from a scrap of acetate and placed over the whipped cream. The donut is a stamp from Richard Garay Designs called “Donut Worry”. I stamped it twice so I could separate the icing in order to add dimension to the donut. Again I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Worn Lipstick) to color the icing. I added “Sprinkles” from Kat Scrappiness to the Glossy Accents to complete the donut.
To create the card layers I added a strip of wood grain paper from my stash to ground the cup and donut. Arranged the items onto the wood and stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Coffee & Tea. Added a few sequins and attached the layer one to the card base using foam tape.
Hope you enjoyed my first project. For more card making inspiration follow me at: www.instagram.com/ark513
