Hello there coffee loving crafty peeps! It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another fun Sunday Sip. This week, I pulled out my Honey Bee Stamps Tea Time stamp set and my Copics and played around with color. I wanted to turn this mug into a rainbow-licous cuppa love and some yummy Gem Stickers HERE.
I was inspired by a few artists that I admire and love. Caleb Zouhary creates gorgeous pottery with a rainbow glaze that is what I feel is trademark Zouhary. I love how he creates paths for his glaze to drip and blend during firing. The other artist is a polymer clay artist that I discovered at the National Craft Council Smithsonian Craft Show in Washington, DC. Ever since I saw Kathleen Dustin’s gorgeous polymer clay purses and jewelry inspired by tribal patterns and textures, I’ve been in love. I don’t even wear jewelry OR carry purses for that matter, but her work is just so gorgeous to me.
I colored a piece of white cardstock using a rainbow collection of Copic Markers. I then stamped the mug over that and fussy cut it out. I mounted it onto a white textured card base with foam squares and then doodled some patterns on the colored portions. I added some personalized sentiments along the side and top of the cup too. Before finishing things up, I added some yummy bling.
Thanks for hopping over to check out my card today! I hope you have a great week! See you again next time. 🙂
