Welcome to a new Caffeine Fueled Paper Play! I’ve got some more Stamplorations for you today along with a reminder that our challenge here on the CLC blog goes through the end of the month and there are a few challenges over at Stamplorations that you can play along with this month too before they go on Summer break! Here’s how I was inspired:
I had cut that gold glittery coffee cup while I was working on my last project and although I LOVED it, it wasn’t right for that one, so I decided I better get it onto a card before I lose it!
I decided it would make a great shaker! So I took a green panel cut using this die from AJVD and used the background die to the Zen Coffee Cups and cut it out of my panel where I wanted my shaker to be. I added some acetate behind that and then glued the gorgeous glittery cup over the top of it… I saved the green that would be inside the handle so the handle would be more defined and plopped that in where it belongs!
Then I covered my cup and layered one of the Fireworks stencils from the shop over it so that my fireworks would be coming out of the cup and taped it in place. I added some Gold Decofoil Metallix paste through the stencil and while it was wet, I sprinkled on some German Glass Glitter that I picked up at The Paper Collage (very cool stuff) and applied a little bit of pressure to push it into the paste. I tapped the extra off onto a piece of paper and saved it to add to my shaker. Then I took a gold Gel pen and added a few more sparkles in and around my fireworks.
I let that dry for a while before adding foam tape to the entire panel back making sure to surround the cup so that the shaker fillings stayed in that area, but covering the rest of it for good support at the top of the panel. I cut a banner using an AJVD die from the Stitched Sentiment Quartet set and added a Just Caffeinated sentiment sticker from the Stamplorations shop (so handy!) The banner has fishtails on both ends and was longer than I needed so I cut the end off and used it as a second banner!
I’m playing along with a couple challenges over at Stamplorations:
The June Theme and Photo Prompt Challenge! I am not playing along with this one because you must use stamps in your project and I didn’t.. but you can! I did however use the photo as inspiration for my project.
The June Stencil Challenge – Anything Goes With A Stencil!
The Never Ending Anything Goes Challenge!
You can find the Challenge Guidelines here with details for all challenges! And around the 10th of the month following the challenge month you can check to see if you’re a winner here!
And don’t forget there’s this going on:
That’s me for today! I hope you enjoyed it and I hope you’ll play along with our challenge here at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog and maybe even over at Stamplorations!
