Challenge #47 – Make a Sentiment-Free Card. One card had no stamping, using die cut houses and pattern paper. Another did some watercoloring stamping and another used a background stamp with ribbon and rhinestones. The last card used stamping and stickers!
I thought this would be easy, and while my card doesn’t have a sentiment, I feel it needs one!! LOL!! I started with an older Hero Arts background and white heat embossed it on some watercolor paper. Then I used some Paul Ruben metallic watercolors to color the background.
While that was drying I pulled out The Cat’s Pajamas Make Tea stamped set. I stamped it on some watercolor card stock with a light gray ink. Then I used the same watercolors and colors to color the image. It end up being more of a no line color situation, but when I was done I thought it need some lines! So I went in with a fine black pen and did a loose, sketchy lines to add a little more definition. I used the stamp packaging as a guide.
Next, I used a rectangle die and cut the background, then adhered it to a Kraft card base. I cut a thick strip of Kraft and adhered it to the card. Last I fussy cut the image and added to the card with foam tape. Maybe if I had a little more time to play with it, I wouldn’t think it needed a sentiment, but its been a long week already and still needed to get some house stuff done before I could relax for the night!
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Stay healthy!!
Dana
