Hello there coffee loving crafty peeps! It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another fun Sunday SIp! This week I’m still cooped up in my house but I’ve been keeping myself busy with chatting with friends, planning online lessons with my teaching team (virtually) and getting crafty. I’m thankful that I have the internet and social media during this crazy time. I hope you’re tucked away safe and sound too!
Today’s card features some fun scene from yesteryear…yeah, it feels like it, doesn’t it?! Well, It seems like forever ago when I stopped by my local coffee shop and sat down to have a cuppa coffee with my friends. Actually, I stopped by Starbucks before I locked myself up in my house last week and the tables and chairs were all put away. That was ok, since I made a mobile order for the new ginger/turmeric drink and dashed in there super quick to grab and go. I can say I was quite impressed with it and can’t wait to get another one. It was definitely better than my matcha experience.
Anyway, back to my card. I created this little scene using stamps from Miss Ink. The set is called Java Joes and it’s a fun little scene building set complete with characters and coffee-shop props!
I stamped the bricks randomly on white Neenah cardstock and then colored with Copics. After that, I brushed black ink over it to tone down the white and blend the bricks into the paper. I then stamped the coffee shop and the tree. After coloring, I fussy cut them and added the images to the background with foam squares.
There are quite a few great sentiments in this set but I thought this one was just perfect for this particular time.
To finish off my card, I mounted the stamped/colored panel onto an ochre colored card base and poured myself a cup of tasty coffee (and put it in one of my favorite handmade mugs by Nara Mills @nara.pots on IG).
Sending healthy vibes to you and yours…See you next week! Stay safe!
