Caffeine Fueled Paper Play – You’re My Best Tea!

Hello again!  I hope you are all staying safe and healthy and getting through these tough times.  This virus is affecting all of us in various ways and my hope is that we all stick together and help each other out to get through it!  I’ll talk about this some more in a bit.

I’m back with some more Hero Arts!  I just had to use up some of the images I had stamped and cut out with the Scan N Cut and then I remembered these Cacti that I got from an awesome crafty friend!  Here’s how I was inspired:

You may be surprised if you’ve never visited the Desert Southwest, but the Desert is beautiful in the Spring!  The cacti bloom and the ground looks so green especially if like this year we got some good rain.  These little desert mice having a tea party to celebrate the beautiful Desert blooms and wonderful friendships!

Those cacti are so cool!  Unfortunately like the Mouse Tea Party set they are retired, however with a Google search I bet you can find them if you want them!   I thought that the lines and “v”‘s in them were just embossing, but they are cuts and there are two parts to the dies… if you want to cut it out of your paper you use the outline die or you can cut it without and it just cuts the outline and texture lines, but .  I just lined it up and fastened it with some washi tape before I ran it through my Gemini.  I cut them out of Copic friendly paper and colored them in with my Copics… and in case you want to know, I used YG01, YG03, YG06 and YG17.

And these adorable mice… along with all of the other images in the set are just so sweet!  This time my mice are brown.. and don’t you just love the mushrooms??  And that sentiment… Best-tea…lol!  So cute!  I created my scene within one of the frames from one of my favorite frame dies from Rubbernecker Stamps, the Rectangle Combo OPC die which cuts a bunch of frames all at the same time!  This one was perfect in size and I love the way the scallop coordinates with the scallop on the beautiful Papel Picado Confetti Background Die from Hero Arts.

Just a few clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and I was done!  In case you didn’t know, Hero Arts is our featured Super Sponsor for March!  Create something with a coffee, tea or cocoa theme using a coffee, tea or cocoa themed product from ANY sponsor and link it up at the Challenge post here for your chance to win that adorable Mouse Tea Party stamp set!  (Yup!  I bought two!).  If you use a coffee, tea or cocoa themed product from Hero Arts you get double the chance to win!  Link up by the 31st of March for your chance(s) to win!  I can’t wait to see what you create!  For the short list of rules just see the Challenge post!

Also, you may or may not have heard that Hero Arts has had to temporarily close up shop for the time being because of the COVID-19 virus as have a few other of our favorite shops like Butterfly Reflections Ink.  Some of our sponsors who participate in stamp shows like A Jillian Vance Design and Rubbernecker Stamps have had shows cancelled.    I hope, if you’re able, you can support your favorite small businesses by continuing to shop… if you like me are able to work from home or for whatever reasons don’t have to worry about not being able to work and whether your paycheck will be there next week or the week after… help keep our friends going.  Some are having specials and sales and we will try to share all of them in the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Group on Facebook here!  Some of it comes with a delay for shipping because they are not able to be in their places of business at the present time.  But nothing better than some happy mail showing up when you least expect it!

If you are NOT able to shop… if YOUR foreseeable future has a question mark over it…I am challenging you to make me spend my money!…lol!  Convince me that there is something I must have!  Create something with your favorite stamps, dies, paper, embellishments, etc. that you already own and if you tag me on IG or Facebook and I see it and I decide I must have one or more of the items you’ve used, I’ll let you know and send you a little happy mail!  I hope I hear from you!   And I hope it brings a little joy during an uncertain time…. love and hugs to everybody!  We can all get through this together!  Now come on!  Enable me!!  You know you want to!

Stay safe and healthy and see you around the interweb (since that’s the only place we can all hang out together any more!)

Super Cute tea party, I love the desert in spring and unfortunately our road trip to see our son in Phoenix has been canceled this year due to corona virus. And the rain they just had sure means it will be spectacular this year!
