Hello there coffee loving crafty peeps! It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another fun Sunday Sip! This week I’m sharing a card.I created featuring the Divinity Designs stamp/die set Hug in a Mug.
My inspiration for this card design comes from one of the newest handmade mugs in my collection. I spent the day yesterday wandering around at the American Craft Council show in Baltimore and did a little shopping too. I go to this event every year specifically to see and purchase pottery (mostly coffee mugs). This year, I discovered several new potters and had some fun chatting with them and purchasing some of their beautiful works. This card mimics the fun exterior (and a hint of the celadon interior of this mug:
Isn’t it beautiful?! It’s made by Philadelphia based studio potter Ryan Greenheck. I love the subtle hint of glaze trailing, the velvety matte exterior and the glossy celadon interior. SOOO gorgeous!
It was a bit tricky to photograph the “glaze trailing” on this card as the lighting wouldn’t cooperate. I tried my best, so I hope you can see the scoring I achieved (and highlighted with a cream Copic marker) on the cardfront.
The sentiment is just a little reminder for me to always wake up grateful…Sooo much to be grateful for!
Thanks so much for hopping over to check out this week’s creation. As I spend time unpacking all the rest of my treasures, I’m going to make sure to test this beauty out today…with a few tasty brews!
