Hello there coffee/tea/cocoa loving crafters! It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another fun Sunday Sip! Today I’m celebrating National Hot TEA day and I thought I’d share a little tea inspiration with you. My card was inspired by some yummy hot tea I brewed up just before making my card. The colors of the card were inspired from the gorgeous amber of my Thai tea. Isn’t it yummy?
Just take a peek at this gorgeous cup of Thai tea!!! I purchased a big bag of thai tea leaves at my local international store several months ago and have been enjoying it hot and cold ever since. It brews beautifully in my little bodum coffee press. This time, I paired it with some fresh toasted coconut. Have you ever tossed some toasted coconut into your brewed tea? It is just divine. a little dessert treat after sipping the deelish cup of tea, that’s for sure.
To create my card, I selected some pretty floral tea images from Pink and Main’s “TEA-RIFIC” and paired it with a mix of happy colors. I used colored pencils to color my images. To add a bit of dimension to the background card base, I stamped the tiny teapot using clear ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. It made it nice and shiny and was a nice contrast between the flat color of the images.
After stamping/embossing the background, I flicked some black paint onto the card panel before attaching my stamped sentiment panel. I tied some black ribbon around the card for contrast and then added a little bow. SOO FUN!
Just a perfect little cup of heaven right there!
Thanks for hopping over to check out my card today. I hope you enjoyed seeing my tasty tea too. Make sure to try some if you haven’t already. It already contains vanilla and of course the traditional Thai tea colorants to make the amber just pop! It’s wonderful just brewed hot and is also super delish cold with coconut milk and sweet and condensed milk. DEELISH! Happy HOT TEA DAY!
