Welcome to a new Caffeine Fueled Paper Play! This time around I’m playing along over at Paper Smooches Stamps Anything Cold Challenge! The challenge format over at Paper Smooches is changing a bit with the new year! There will be two challenges a month and this one goes through the 14th! Check out the challenge post here for all of the details! And you may have heard that there is a new challenge team and I’m sure you’ll recognize some names including our Coffee Loving Teamie, Kathy Schweinfurth and you can check out her first Challenge Post here if you’d like (it’s a cutie!). Now! Here’s how I was inspired:
You know I loves my gnomes! When I discovered this cutie pie in the shop I had to have him! So… I got him! And did you know that Paper Smooches has a couple super cute paper pads now?? Last month was the release of the Rainbow Sherbet pad and this month is a really cool black and white pad with lots of fun prints! And what’s even cooler?? Because of the way the paper is processed, you can foil it if you want!** And I want… so I did!
(A note should you decide you want to foil it too: the paper is two sided so the “back” side also has toner. When I run it through the Minc, I place a piece of copy paper on the back side because otherwise it will stick to your folder. I believe it will release from the folder once it cools, but I prefer to add the paper behind it to be sure.)
I started with a die cut panel of the star print from the new pad, and ran it through the Minc with some beautiful Gina K Gold Sequins Foil. Then I used some purple and blue Distress Oxide inks to blend a night sky over it. Then I swiped a dry paper towel over it to remove any film left on the foiled stars from the inks.
Next I cut another white rectangle layer and cut a couple snowy landscape pieces from that and layered them on along with that tree line from Poppy Stamps. I added my images that I stamped, colored and cut using the Scan N Cut. The cup was cut from Copic friendly paper using a cup die from the Coffee and Tea die set. So nice of Mr. Hedgie to hold the coffee cup for his friend isn’t it?
I decided to cut the Let’s Chill sentiment and the steam for my cup (from Stamp Simply) out of gold mirrored cardstock since the stars were gold. I cut the sentiment three times… once from the mirror cardstock and twice from a plain gold cardstock and stacked them together for dimension. I did the same with the snowflakes.
And just a few sequins and done!
So I hope you’ll join me over at the *New* Paper Smooches Semi Monthly Challenge! And if you do, and you use a Paper Smooches coffee, tea or cocoa product, you can also link it up here at our Caffeine Fueled Paper Play monthly challenge! Use any sponsor’s coffee, tea, or cocoa product and link it up for a chance to win. You can check out all of the details at this post here!
Thank you so much for stopping today and I hope you enjoyed it!
