Coffee Loving Papercrafters

We’re so excited to have Zsofi Molnar as our January Guest Designer!

Hello Everyone,

I am Zsofi and I am super excited to be guest designing for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog for the month of January. I will not lie, I am addicted to coffee and cardmaking. My favourite coffee is long and has milk, I cannot imagine starting a day without this first hot treat. It is really a hug in a mug for me. My other addiction – cardmaking – started 6 years ago when my second child was born. I wanted to scrapbook our memories, but then I saw a cute critter stamp from Lawn Fawn. I live in Hungary and cardmaking wasn’t a thing here at that time. But it was love at first sight and I cannot stop crafting ever since. I learnt everything online, step by step. I love bright and cheerful colours, and building scenes, combining different stamp and die sets. It makes me happy and keeps me sane. I hope you will enjoy my happy coffee cards every Friday this month!

For this week I created a funny little scene with Heffy Doodle stamps and dies. When I saw the Unbearable without you set, I immediately saw the bears having a coffee party. I looked through my stash and found the perfect cups for them in the More than S’mores stamp set (it was a Simon Says Stamp Stamptember exclusive in 2018). I coloured my images with Copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I love when dies are smart and cut the paws of the critters: it was so easy to make them hold their coffee!

To set the scene I used the Cloudy skies stencil with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink and applied it gently with a blending brush on a white card base. I splattered it with water and diluted Peacock Feathers ink. Then I die cut two hills with a Stitched Sloppy Joes die and added Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. I love texture so I splattered it with diluted green ink.

After assembling the scene I stamped the sentiment in black and finished it with die cut glittery letters. The Stitched alphabetters has the perfect size to stand out and it has the pretty stitched detail I adore.

Only the finishing touches were remaining at this point: a bit of clear shimmer to the coffee sleeves and drops of glossy accents on the bears’ noses and the hearts.
