Brew & Craft Your Stash – Make an Embellishment with Twine

Hello Coffee Lovers!!

It’s time for Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #38 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!

Challenge #38 – Make an Embellishment with Twine. These cards are so fun! One card actually knitted a tiny little shirt! Another looped some brown twine to make some cowboy lasso. The other cards have twine as a phone cord and the twine tying buttons together.

I decided to use some twine to dress up a coffee cup die! I used watercolor card stock because its thicker and Concord & 9th Coffee Blend Die. To create the holes for my twine I have a Tim Holtz ruler with holes and a paper piercer to mark the cup. Then I used the paper piercer to punch the holes. With a needle I threaded some purple twine and went to stitching!

I love how it turned out! To dress up the cup I die cut the snowflake from Concord & 9ths Stocking Stuffers Bundle. Then added a matching rhinestone.

From my stash I pulled out some grey snowflake pattern paper, cutting it with a stitched rectangle. I added the cup to it with foam tape, then stamped Warm Winter Wishes from Avery Elle Warm Wishes stamp set.

From the same purple card stock as the snowflake I cut a stitched rectangle. I added it to a white card base, then added the snowflake panel with the stitched cup.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this encourages you to use your twine in a new way!
