Coffee Loving Papercrafters

Happy October!  And welcome to a new Caffeine Fueled Paper Play Challenge!  Check out the two winners from September’s Ode to Craftin’ Desert Divas at the bottom of the post!  But first, this month’s challenge.  I knew I wanted to use this new stamp I recently purchased, Plant Kindness:

Isn’t that little fella sweet??  I started with a base of some beautiful and cool paper I received in the Coffee My Monthly Hero Kit from August of 2018… so if you purchased this kit, you may have some of this paper that you forgot about.  It is gorgeous!!  Why do I still have it… um… hoarding?  But I decided this was the perfect time to use it and I love how it’s so beautiful yet subtle.  I used the frame from the Waffle Flower Moon & Stars die set (beautiful set!).

This image … I knew I needed it as soon as I saw it!  Love that big cup and decided to go blue.  Normally I lean towards a blue/green, but for some reason this combo of B21, B24, and B26 called to me and I’m so happy it did!  I had fun mixing some V15 and BG72 with just a touch of BG75 for the succulents.  The watering can is YG01, YG03, and YG17.  This was a really fun image to color and while I normally don’t list all of my colors, these are some of my very favorite combos so I thought I’d share.

I also used some images from the Big Bear and Bird Summertime stamps and dies (so worth it to get the dies for this set!)… those tall leafy images reminded me of the ones in the main image and the succulents were also perfect!   On the tall leafy image and cactus I used YG61, YG63, and YG67, and the berries are R14 and R27.  And that cutie pie and the mushrooms were Y28, E84, and E81.  I love to use R02 for cheeks and such.

The sentiment is one of quite a few really cute “Friend” sentiments included in Plant Kindness.  I used one of my favorite banners from Paper Smooches for the first part and then stamped the second part in Sapphire Blue and fussy cut it out.  Those flowers are from the Summertime stamps and dies as well and I used some more of the red I used in the berries and at the top I went over a bit with YR31 to lighten it up and add a little more yellowy orange.

I’m so happy with how this turned out… I love all of the color and especially the bright blue cups!

I’m also playing along with the October Mood Board Challenge at Super Sponsor Butterfly Reflections Ink!  I didn’t go with colors as I usually do… just couldn’t resist the blue!  I was inspired by all of the plant life/greenery in the photos and of course the coffee cups!   What inspires you?  There is plenty to go around!
